Budget-friendly guide to independent travel in the Caribbean

About koucou

koucou is designed for independent travelers to the Caribbean, visitors who watch what they spend and value experience over luxury. It’s for backpackers, bargain-hunters, and charm-seekers—for anyone, really, who doesn’t want to pay more than necessary.

You won’t find any all-inclusive resorts on koucou. What you will find, in addition to hotels, is information about camping, hostels, gîtes, house rentals, rooms for rent, and other money-saving tips that should allow you to navigate the world’s most beautiful region on a budget.

We’ve been traveling to the Caribbean on a budget for years, and we know that the region is much more affordable than most travel magazines and guidebooks will tell you it is. By spending some time with koucou, employing a little creativity, searching out spots off the beaten path, and, often, choosing smaller properties, you'll find that the Caribbean on a reasonable budget is not out of reach.
