We’ll be honest: the barred façade, overrun with plants, made us a little uneasy at first. But the apartments on the other side of A1's façade are clean and comfortable and a great value for money. Rooms center around the proprietors' home, so there is always someone on hand. The friendly couple who run the property are amiable, and the location is great. A1 is just a few short minutes from downtown Oranjestad in one direction and a few minutes from the beach in the other.
With a tranquil, umbrella-lined patio (lit in the evenings with twinkle lights), a beautiful pool and a full spa on the premises, Aruba Harmony offers much of what one expects from a full resort, without the typically exorbitant resort rates. For under $110 a night, two people can stay in a bright, commodious studio apartment, with full kitchen, adorable wood and wicker furnishings, and sunny terrace.
We like the fact that Aruba Harmony Resort is set up along the soothing traditions of feng shui, but more important in our estimation is the atmosphere of camaraderie here, which makes for comfortable ...!--[endif]-->!--[if>
The cool butter-colored exterior of this property is instantly inviting, and the apartments inside are very comfortable. Tucked away on a quiet street not far from Oranjestad, it’s a relaxing retreat from Aruba's busier districts. Camacuri's rates are great, from the well-priced double rooms to the very affordable five-person large suites.
The apartments are comfortable and large, with full, modern kitchens and individual private terraces. The cactus-festooned terrace is a quiet place to relax and the gorgeous pool—with waterfall (!)—is anything if not inviting. We were also strongly impressed by the genuine friendliness of the folks ...
When it comes to describing Little David, character is the first thing that springs to mind. The property, which is home to the guesthouse's very friendly proprietors, Noud and Frans, is an expansive ranch style house, replete with buttery yellow walls and cool-to-the-touch red tile floors.
The guesthouse's real character is on display in the décor, with statues, huge colorful artwork, walls covered with ornamentations of various kinds, and lush front and back gardens. Noud and Frans themselves are wonderfully friendly, and almost always willing to sit and chat guests, whether to share their wisdom about the ...
Quality Apartments offers a pretty excellent deal for budget hunters. Just over $100 in high season nets a stay in a spacious comfortable apartment just minutes from Eagle Beach. The apartments themselves look like they were ripped from the set of the 1980s sitcom Golden Girls, and we mean this in the best of ways: think white wicker and breezy Florida florals.
Apartments are clean and frankly pretty enormous. The clincher of the deal here is the property itself, with its inviting pool, huge library of books, laundry room, and full gym. There are also grills out on the patio ...
The one bedroom suites here are sparsely decorated, but each has a huge common room and full kitchen, plus sliding doors that open onto the pool. The property's amenities are the epitome of basic, but this is a perfectly suitable place for crashing. The location is great for beach lovers seeking peace and quiet at night. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, within walking distance to the beach and just ten minutes from downtown Oranjestad, the island's cultural center.
Talk of the Town is located some distance from the crowds of the high-rise hotel strip, along L.G. Smith Boulevard, Aruba's main artery. The hotel is across the street from the beach and very close to Oranjestad and the airport. It’s colorful, comfortable, and quiet, with accommodating staff. Room rates only float into affordable territory during low season, but offer a lovely treat during those warmer months when the price is right.
Note that a three-night stay is required.
