Little David Guesthouse

koucou review

When it comes to describing Little David, character is the first thing that springs to mind. The property, which is home to the guesthouse's very friendly proprietors, Noud and Frans, is an expansive ranch style house, replete with buttery yellow walls and cool-to-the-touch red tile floors.

The guesthouse's real character is on display in the décor, with statues, huge colorful artwork, walls covered with ornamentations of various kinds, and lush front and back gardens. Noud and Frans themselves are wonderfully friendly, and almost always willing to sit and chat guests, whether to share their wisdom about the island or simply to engage in conversation.

While Little David is "straight friendly," the guesthouse caters to gay travelers. Its demographic bent is evident in much of the décor and mood of the guesthouse. But gay or not, guests will find the guesthouse to be a homey, clean, and friendly place. Breakfast is included in the nightly rate, which hovers just over $100 for two.

One caveat here: It is important to remember that you are staying in someone’s home. This fact lends a degree of local color that cannot be found in standard hotels or apartments. At the same time, travelers who intend to noisily return to their rooms at 5 am might want to look elsewhere.
